Fall Chinook Salmon
Tillamook Bay & Nehalem Bay
Oregon's coastal bays and rivers are World Class Fall
Chinook Fisheries. These are some of the largest Salmon on the
entire Pacific Coast. The average fish is between 25 and 35
pounds, however fish weighing over 40 pounds are common. Some
go as high as 50, 60 or even 70 pounds. These monster fish are
very hard fighters. Dont miss your chance to catch a trophy
Salmon!
Spring Chinook Salmon
Spring Chinook Salmon are truly the Crown Jewell of the
Northwest. Though generally smaller than their fall-returning
cousins, spring Salmon are powerful, tenacious fighters and
are prized beyond all other Salmon for the quality of their
flesh.
Beginning in February and continuing into July, KAPTUR'S GUIDE
SERVICE targets "springers" on the Columbia, Willamette and
Clackamas Rivers, rotating amongst locations to stay with the
best available bite. These beautiful fish will range in size
from 12- to 30-pounds, with exceptional fish nearing the
40-pound mark.
These trips fill fast, so early reservations are recommended.

Buoy 10 Fall Chinook and Silver Salmon
Each August, fall Chinook (king) and silver (coho) Salmon
destined for the rivers of Southern Washington, Northern
Oregon and Idaho amass in great numbers at the mouth of the
Columbia River near Astoria, Oregon. The fabled "Buoy 10"
fishery is the single most productive fishery in the state and
routinely gives up limits of Chinook and silver Salmon.
The productivity of the fishery is complimented by
consistently the best weather of the year. The action can at
times be fast and furious for silver Salmon in the range of 7
to 15 pounds and Chinooks ranging from 18- to 50-pounds.
The Buoy 10 fishery open on August 1 and KAPTUR'S GUIDE
SERVICE stays in the area until the fishing slows in
mid-September.
